I suggest you add a line in the ISR something like "UsartDataAvailable = 1" then in the main routine, instead of checking. Code:

Also, if there is a responce to the interrupt then the GIE bit is cleared and has to be set at the end of the interrupt routine. It's been a while since I had to poll interrupt flag bits.
