WebMay 24, 2010 · Not sure exactly what you are describing, but a typical 1/4" endpin jack has a second hex jam nut OUTSIDE of the guitar to secure the assembly in the guitar. The external jam nut is hidden, however, beneath the strap attachment "thingy" which is threaded-on and is sometimes hard to get a grip on it to spin it off.
